## Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

### How do I link an account?

Follow these steps to [link a new account](https://support.ynab.com/en_us/linked-accounts-B1991f2Cc#new) or [link an existing account](https://support.ynab.com/en_us/linked-accounts-B1991f2Cc#existing).

### Why is my credit card/savings account/etc. missing from the list of accounts?

Not all account types fall under Open Banking™ and PSD2 regulations, so not all banks have provided access to these account types in their API.

### Can I have connections in both North America and Europe?

Yes!

### What should I do if I need help with a connection or transaction issue?

Start with [this troubleshooting guide](https://support.ynab.com/en_us/troubleshooting-linked-accounts-BJ9Mv9b1s) or [tell the chatbot you need a human or send us an email](https://support.ynab.com/en_us/how-to-get-help-SygqcvtC5) to ensure that your message gets to our Support team! While troubleshooting, check out our other [transaction entry methods](https://support.ynab.com/en_us/how-to-add-transactions-in-ynab-HyDwA_byi) to keep your accounts accurate.

A reminder _before_ re-entering your credentials: Check your login information and [reconcile your accounts](https://support.ynab.com/en_us/reconciling-accounts-a-guide-BJFE3fHys#process) to prevent duplicate transactions. Additionally, payees may import differently at first. However, if you [fix a payee](https://support.ynab.com/en_us/how-to-add-edit-and-delete-payees-rkxMu4Skj#edit) once YNAB will remember.

### How often does the import provider check for new transactions?

We trigger an aggregation via our import provider when you open YNAB and it's been over six hours since the last one. If you don’t open YNAB that day, a nightly aggregation keeps transactions fresh.

### Why can't I find my bank in YNAB?

Try searching by your country's abbreviation or name. If you still can't find it, you'll see the option to _Suggest an Institution_ in YNAB. We share these suggestions with our import providers on a regular basis. We can't guarantee if/when our import providers will make the bank available, but the data helps them prioritize which banks have the most interest.

### What if I don't want to use Plaid?

If you are uncomfortable connecting your banks to YNAB, it's completely optional. Check out our other [transaction entry methods](https://support.ynab.com/en_us/how-to-add-transactions-in-ynab-HyDwA_byi) to keep your accounts accurate.

### Can I use Apple Wallet to import my transactions?

Possibly! Please check out [Apple Wallet in YNAB: Authorized Bank Connections](https://support.ynab.com/en_us/apple-third-party-H1gE_0CRyg) for more information.
