# Does YNAB create targets automatically?

If you’re just getting started with YNAB and link your accounts during mobile onboarding, we analyze 90 days of your past spending. If we have enough data for a category of spending, we’ll create a target automatically and update [Cost to Be Me](https://support.ynab.com/en_us/plan-and-adjust-with-edit-plan-and-cost-to-be-me-ByR7vpqPyx).

If the targets we automatically set don’t match your actual spending, you can [adjust the target type or amount](https://support.ynab.com/en_us/how-to-use-targets-rk5kkI9ks#edit-delete).

Automatic target creation happens only during onboarding for your first plan. If you [create an additional plan](https://support.ynab.com/en_us/creating-a-new-plan-Hyl4uc5Cq) later, YNAB won’t analyze your spending or create targets for it automatically — even when you tap _Personalize your plan_ in the new plan checklist. You can [set targets](https://support.ynab.com/en_us/how-to-use-targets-rk5kkI9ks) for those categories yourself.

### Will the transactions analyzed during mobile onboarding be added to YNAB?

No, these transactions are only used to create targets based on past spending. They won’t be added to YNAB.
