How to Delete a Plan

Delete unused plans to focus your intentions on your current priorities and declutter your dashboard in YNAB. Follow the steps in this article to delete plans on any of our platforms.

How to Delete a Plan

  1. From the web app, click the name of your plan (located at the top of the left sidebar).

  2. Hover your mouse over Open Plan in the drop-down menu. 

  3. Click View All Plans

  4. Hover your mouse over the plan you'd like to delete, and click the trash can button  that appears in the bottom right corner of the square. 

  5. You'll receive a confirmation message: "Are you sure you want to delete plan [your plan name]?" If you're absolutely positive that's the one, click the red Delete button. Otherwise, choose Cancel instead. 

Be careful, but if you accidentally delete the wrong plan, send us a message ↗️! We'll need you to enable Support Access ↗️ in order to restore a deleted plan.

  1. From the mobile app, tap the Plan tab at the bottom of the screen. Categories or Spotlight can be toggled on.

  2. Tap the three dots icon    in the top left corner of the app.

  3. Tap Open Plan.

  4. Select the plan you'd like to delete to open it.

  5. Tap the three dots icon    one more time.

  6. Select Settings & Privacy, and then Plan Settings.

  7. Tap Delete Plan at the very bottom of the screen.

  8. After tapping Delete Plan, a final confirmation window will pop up. If you're absolutely positive you'd like to continue, confirm by tapping Delete in that pop-up window (or tap Cancel to return to the Plan Settings).
