## Tracking Money Moves

### iOS

YNAB tracks how and when money moves between your categories and Ready to Assign so you can consider how your priorities shifted and use that information to make future financial decisions.

You may find it helpful to review some of those decisions. Did your Dining Out category eat it when your best friend showed up unexpectedly? Maybe your Home Maintenance category was drained due to a leaky window and a particularly stormy spring. Or it could just be a case of “Where the heck did all my Fun Money go?”

You can access this info in two places:

* via the **Recent Moves window** (maintains history for moves made in the last 34 days). For specifics of this method, review [this section below](#recent).

* at the **specific category level** for individual months (in the current and future months, or up to three months in the past). For more specifics on the category level moves, review [this section below](#level).

### Money Moves via the Recent Moves window

### iOS

For an overview of recent moves, tap the three dots icon button at the top of your plan screen, and then tap _Recent Moves_. This window will show you the past 34 days of money movements in current, future, or past months.

At the top of the Recent Moves window, you can **filter** your view by choosing between: _All_, _Moved_, or _Assigned_. _Moved_ will focus on money moved recently to cover overspending or re-prioritize, whereas _Assigned_ will show just your basic moves.

If one of the moves shows "10 Categories" or another number, tapping this will reveal even more details for bulk actions like Auto-Assign and exactly how much was assigned into _each_ category.

#### Recent Moves Pro Tips!

If you want even more detail, selecting any category name listed in the Recent Moves window jumps you directly to that category. You can then drill down into the month's moves for that specific category using the steps below.

If you want to reverse a recent move, you can do so by viewing what money was recently moved and manually moving money back the other way.

## What Do the Different Icons Mean?

### iOS

* **Trash Can**: When you delete a category, any assigned money in past months (even if it’s been spent) has to go somewhere. The trash can icon will appear to indicate money has been moved due to a deleted category.

* **Move Money Arrow**: The arrow icon means money has been moved between categories. The category on the left of the arrow is the origin and the category on the right is the destination.

* **Lightning Bolt**: This icon indicates money has been moved to one or more categories using an Auto-Assign button.

* **Money Stack**: The stack of money indicates that a single move was made from Ready to Assign to a category. It will also show for money moving back to Ready to Assign from a category.

* **Calendar**: When you see a calendar icon next to the amount of money you’ve moved, it means money was moved in a different month’s plan, not in the current month. The month name will be listed next to the icon.
