- Tap the three dots icon at the top left.
- Tap Open Plan to display your full list of plan options.

Switching Between Multiple Plans
Want to access a previous plan? (Perhaps you have some archived ones from making Fresh Starts ↗️!). Or maybe you're working with more than one plan currently (multiple currencies, business plans, sharing plans through YNAB Together, etc.). Here's how to easily switch between plans to always access the view of YNAB you need, regardless of what platform you're on!
How to Access Another Plan
- Web
- iOS
- Android
- From the web app, click the name of your plan (located at the top of the left sidebar).
- Choose Open Plan to reveal a Recent Plans submenu to the right, showing you up to five of your most recent plans to select from.
- If the plan you're searching for isn't listed there, select View All Plans at the bottom of the Recent Plans submenu. This will bring you to your Plan Dashboard.
- Choose the plan you want to open from your Plan Dashboard.
- From the iOS mobile app, tap the Plan tab at the bottom of the screen. Categories or Spotlight can be toggled on.
- Tap the three dots icon at the top left.
- Tap Open Plan.
- Select the plan you'd like to open from the list*.
*Are you offline? If so, you'll be able to open and load any plans with a device icon to the left of the name. They're downloaded to your device. If instead there's a cloud icon by the plan you want, this means it hasn't been downloaded to your device yet. The details are safe and sound in our server, but you'll need to connect to the internet before it can be opened up on your mobile device.

How to Land in the Correct Month and Plan When You Open YNAB
To reliably land in the current month in YNAB:
- Mobile: The mobile app will automatically open you in the current month!
- Web: Make sure you use https://app.ynab.com/ ↗️ when accessing the web app. If you use a browser bookmark or pinned tab, make sure it's set to that general web address. Otherwise, the bookmark will continue to take you back to the past (or future!), depending on the month page/view or plan you were on when it was created.
Is the wrong plan opening (not just the wrong month)?
- Mobile: The mobile app will open the last plan you accessed on your mobile device. If you make a new plan on web, make sure that you open that new plan using these steps on your mobile device!
- Web: You'll want to make sure that you have your settings configured to open your most recently used plan by default. See below for specifics on adjusting this plan setting.
How to Adjust Your Default Plan Settings
- Web
- iOS
- Android
- On the web app, click the name of your plan (located at the top of the left sidebar).
- Select Account Settings.
- Check the box next to "Open last used plan by default" (you may need to scroll down).
- Going forward, the plan you've worked on most recently will open automatically when you log in—as long as you're using https://app.ynab.com/ ↗️ and not a bookmark for a specific plan.
This "Open last used plan by default" setting is not available in the mobile app. As a workaround, if you don't have access to a computer, try copying and pasting the web address into a mobile browser (like Chrome) and logging in that way: https://app.ynab.com/settings. *This won't work in the Google Search widget.
The mobile app will open the last plan you accessed from your mobile device (which, if you use the web app, too, may not be the last used plan overall). Use the steps in the How to Access Another Plan section above to open the desired plan on your mobile device!
