When a friend or family member uses your referral to sign up for YNAB, they'll begin a month-long free trial. If they decide to subscribe, **a free month will automatically be added to both of your accounts once their subscription starts (at the end of their free trial)**. Please note: the free month will be added to the **end** of your paid subscription period.  If your friend forgot to use your link—or if you forgot to use your friend's link—[tell the chatbot you need a human or send us an email](https://support.ynab.com/en_us/how-to-get-help-SygqcvtC5) with both the referral and referee email addresses, and we'll get you both squared away! And, as if it couldn't get any better, there are no limits to the number of referrals you can issue, so issue away! We even list all your referrals on your personalized referral page, so it's easy to keep track of who's been referred, who's signed up, and who's been issued a free month. [Back to Top](#backtotop) * * * ## How to Refer a Friend ###  iOS 1. Tap the _Home_ tab. 2. Tap the gift icon at the top of the screen. 3. Tap _Copy Link_ to share your referral link, or tap the _QR code icon_ to display a code your friends can scan. ###  Android 1. Tap the _Home_ tab. 2. Tap the gift icon at the top of the screen. 3. Tap _Copy Link_ to share your referral link, or tap the _QR code icon_ to display a code your friends can scan. ###  Web 1. Log into any of your plans. 2. Your referral link can be accessed in the following spots: 1. In the lower-left corner of the app. 2. By clicking on _Refer a Friend_ in the Share YNAB section of the dropdown menu, accessed by clicking the name of your plan in the upper-left corner. 3. By visiting the Account Settings page. 3. Choose the way in which you'd like to share your referral link: 1. Send an email by entering your name and your friend's email address directly into the form and clicking the _Send Invite_ button. 2. If you can't find your referral link, here are a few reasons that may explain why: * **You've hidden the left sidebar of your plan.**If the blue sidebar is narrow and you notice a right arrow icon at the bottom, you've hidden it. Simply click the right arrow icon to make it visible again. * **The YNAB Toolkit is hiding it.**If you've installed the (unofficial) YNAB Toolkit browser extension, you might accidentally have the Referral Banner **hidden**. Check your Toolkit settings for a solution or contact the developers of Toolkit directly. * **Not all YNAB subscribers have access to a referral link.** * **If you're part of a Financial Wellness by YNAB plan**, you won't be provided a referral link. * **If you're still on your free trial**, you won't have access to a referral link until your subscription starts.  **Shared YNAB with a friend during your trial?** The "invite a friend" option during your trial is separate from the referral program as it doesn't generate a referral link or automatic credit.
