Decide how to handle reimbursements when purchasing something for another person. Assign money for the expense upfront, temporarily overspend and use the reimbursement to cover it, or pre-fund your reimbursement category. Then learn how to organize and track your reimbursements.

*   [**Approach One: Assign Money Up Front**](https://support.ynab.com/en_us/reimbursement-approach-one-rkF4ZvFwee) - Assign money for the expense up front, and then use the reimbursement elsewhere in your plan. This is our recommended approach.
